Completeness before export

Know what you have.
Know what is missing.

MessageLedger snapshots the database, detects the schema it can support, counts the records it can interpret, and separates available attachments from references with no local payload.

01

Snapshot

The selected source and its WAL companions are copied into the app container together. Queries run against that copy, read-only.

02

Diagnose

Message, conversation, attachment, relation, and payload coverage is reported before the export button.

03

Decide

Choose the conversation and review available attachment coverage with every reported gap still visible.

A transcript is more than bubbles

Preserve the details screenshots flatten.

Stable message identifiers keep conversational relationships reviewable across every output.

  • Replies remain connected to their source message
  • Edited and unsent states stay explicit
  • Reactions keep their target identifier
  • Service, direction, date, and time zone are recorded
  • Missing attachments are named in diagnostics
  • Unsupported payloads receive visible placeholders

“Export finished” is a workflow status. “Every recorded package file still matches its manifest” is evidence.

Package verification is free. It observes the export as it exists now; it does not certify the original source or legal admissibility.

Plain answers

Before you rely on an export.

Is MessageLedger affiliated with Apple?

No. MessageLedger is independent software from Trieflow LLC and is not affiliated with Apple or endorsed by Apple.

Does it guarantee every message or attachment?

No. Completeness depends on the source you select, schema compatibility, and which attachment payloads are still present. The app reports those limits before export.

Does it make an export admissible in court?

No. Requirements vary by jurisdiction and matter. MessageLedger preserves useful context and integrity evidence, but it does not provide legal advice, authenticate a source, or certify admissibility.

What sources work?

A user-selected Mac Messages folder or an unencrypted local Finder iPhone backup. Read the compatibility details before purchase.
